What we collect

  • What you send us. When you send an enquiry or your plant list, we receive the name, phone number, email address, postcode and message you type in, along with the plants on your list.
  • Your IP address. Stored with the enquiry so we can stop automated abuse of the form.
  • Nothing else. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not buy or sell contact details.

Why we use it

Only to answer you and to fulfil what you ask for. That is our legitimate interest in replying to an enquiry you started. We do not add you to a mailing list because you enquired.

How long we keep it

Enquiries stay in the website so we can find what we quoted you last time. If you want yours deleted, email us and we will remove it.

Who else sees it

  • Our website host, which stores the site and its database on servers in the UK or EU.
  • Our email provider, because your enquiry is emailed to us.
  • Google, which runs Google Analytics — only if you accept analytics cookies.
  • Cloudflare, whose Turnstile check confirms the form is being used by a person rather than a bot.

We do not share your details with anyone else.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising cookies. With your permission it uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. Nothing from Google loads until you press Accept on the cookie notice.

  • Your plant list is kept in your own browser's local storage, not in a cookie and not on our server, until you send it or clear it. It never leaves your device unless you press send.
  • Google Analytics (_ga and _ga_HEY6MF8Z3Q) — only if you accept. They tell apart one visitor from another without naming anyone, and Google keeps the data for two months. Change your cookie choice at any time; saying no deletes them.
  • WordPress sets a cookie only if someone logs in to manage the site.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile sets a short-lived token while it checks the form.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@newleaftopiary.co.uk and we will deal with it within a month. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
